Absolute Health enhances the safety of its Medical SPA guests, becoming one of the, unfortunately still few, “cardioprotected” facilities in Rome. An EXTERNAL SEMIAUTOMATIC DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) has been installed, manufactured by Philips Healthcare. This life-saving medical device intervenes in cases of cardiorespiratory arrest by delivering an electrical shock to the heart to restore its normal rhythm in cases of cardiac arrhythmia such as tachycardia, fibrillation, or flutter.
The semi-automatic defibrillator is a piece of equipment with very advanced technology and, at the same time, extremely simple to use, even for non-medical rescuers. Once the adhesive electrodes are attached to the person in cardiac arrest, the defibrillator automatically detects the cardiac situation and will identify the potential need to subject the patient to defibrillation and in what way. Simultaneously, the semi-automatic defibrillator communicates vocally with the rescuers, giving instructions on what to do: when to activate the shock, when to move away from the patient, and when to resume normal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures, i.e. mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and cardiac massage.
The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is just the latest addition to the tools available at Absolute Health Medical SPA, joining oxygen dispensers, first aid kits, and medications. Our staff receives regular training in Basic Life Support and Defibrillation (BLS/D), as well as training courses for Basic Life Support and Defibrillation rescuers.
