The Face lift it is one of the most complex interventions in the field of Cosmetic surgery.
What types of facelift are there?
There are various types of facelift:
- depending on the surgical plan (subperiosteal, on the fascial-SMAS- plane or subcutaneous), with different levels of invasiveness and duration over time.
- according to the facial area concerned (complete, mid-face, mid- and lower-face + neck).
Subcutaneous lift and subperiosteal lift
Subcutaneous facelift is less invasive, on a more superficial plane, but the results are very short-lived. It is performed under local anaesthesia + sedation. Much more invasive, but with much longer-lasting results, are subperiosteal or SMAS plane facelifts. They are performed under general anaesthesia; they present a higher risk of vascular and nerve lesions. In cases where a surgical approach is to be avoided, a valid alternative for redefining facial contours is represented by outpatient treatment with traction filaments For the first signs of sagging, with the Biostimulation threads.
Approximately 1 week of bruising, with full recovery within 20 days (depending on the extent and depth of the surgical plan).
