White fillings

To treat tooth decay, after proper prevention, or to replace an old metal filling which is either gold or amalgam, today composite material is used to create white fillings that match the colour of the natural tooth.

The white filling

Although dental amalgam and gold have long been the restorations of choice for back teeth, today they have limited indications in’Restorative dentistry and cavities are treated and then covered with white fillings. On one hand, the aesthetic result of these materials is no longer accepted by patients, and on the other hand, they are materials that do not “reinforce” the tooth, having no adhesive power to the tooth structure. Fillings made with tooth-coloured restorative material (dental composite) have the same qualities in terms of durability, while offering Aesthetic advantage of considerable importance.

Modern composite materials are in fact supplied in a vast range of colours, for both dentine and enamel; this makes it very easy for us to find the exact shade of the tooth we are treating, ensuring a mimicry with the natural tooth, Almost perfect.
